dear all sorry, very brief as this antique computer in slovenia is going to cut me off in 10 minutes. i will reply more personally in hungary.
we are in ljubliana, slovenia, which is actually very modern except for the internet cafe. after slovak we hit vienna, a very cultural city but very expensive, and stayed for 5 days eating cakes, then we went down to a place called murzzusslag to watch the 100 percent eclipse. it was very cloudy but we got to see it, and it went dark. toms friend matt came out for 4 days and we played frisbee, then when he left we went via graz to here in ljublijana, a very small capital of 200000 but nice nonetheless. slovenia is gorgeous and full of mountains, so our legs are tired. we met a few more cycle tourists and they said our bikes were crap, but we pointed out how far we had come on them , and they were suitably impressed i must say.
so so far we are 2738 miles and 76 days, we head for zagreb then budapest on our stupidly crooked route. the tent has a little broken but it keeps away the storms ok. we felt like we had a holiday in the middle, after hanging about to watch the eclipse, but we soon fixed that by going 40km the wrong way up a 1080m mountain. oh well. we are doing our usual cultural cinema activities in ljubliana and eating at macds and going au cinema. really gotta dash paul
